The reflection of the event shows not only everyday side of life , but also the internal personality , the state of mood , experience , relations with other people and so on . In the library of the Children’s House these so-called books make up the special stock with the title “ Our Life” . They are permanently in demand with the children , who like to look through the pictures and drawings , read short notes , printed in large letters or in Braille .

In the Children’s House a number of different workshops , studios, communities were created , the units taking care of animals and plants , cleaning the territory of the Children’ House .

Earlier the vocational training was aimed to prepare deaf-blind students for the work on some industrial enterprises , in the new system more attention is paid to teaching different crafts , to let the students later use their skills at home or in small craftsworkshops with the help of simple equipment .

Part of the workshops : sewing , mechanical, packing means – are the branches of industrial enterprises . These workshops get materials for their work , equipment and pass their output directly to the enterprises . Our students also get their salary as the labourers of these enterprises .

The other workshops ( ceramics , weaving , frivolitte , knitting , making paper flowers , sewing the clothes for the priests and for the religious services ) teach the students different crafts , and their production is sold in the stores , art-shops and exhibition-shops .The students get the fee for the works as soon as they are sold . There are some workshops , uniting a few children with special gifts ( painting and icon-painting , work with birch bark and papier- mache ).

One of the new , but impotant directions in our work is the spiritual-moral education of children in the traditions of Russian Orthodox church , which could be fulfilled after accepting corresponding laws .

For example , the programm of creative abilities development assumes not only taking part in the creative workshops ( painting , ceramics , gold-embroidery shop , and so on ) , but also taking part of all the children in the mass entertaining and amusing activities , in the preparation and taking part in the performances and concerts . Under the teachers’ leadership the students paint the scenery , sew the costumes , prepare the properties . All the staff and the students take part in the preparation of the mass arrangements , almost all the workshops and subdivisions of the Children’s House , and it unites the staff , forms the social consciousness , developing emotionally and aesthetically .
